We explain how to take a screenshot on any Samsung device in the simplest way possible.

If you want to know how to take a screenshot on Samsung on any device that has Android, you have come to the right place. For whatever reasons, you probably want to take some screenshot on your phone or tablet that you might want to show something to your friends or just want to save something to take a look at later.

If what you are looking for is to take a screenshot with 3 fingers, you should know that this option is not available on Samsung devices . In any case, there are other equally effective methods to take a screenshot on Android with a Samsung device that will allow us to save or share the content of our screen very easily.

Most Samsung phones and tablets use the same method . So if you’ve used a Galaxy device before, you might already be familiar with the feature. If not, we will show you the easiest and most used way.

3 Methods to Take a Screenshot on Any Samsung Phone

Samsung has included three different methods that users can use to take a screenshot on their devices . The first method, which is also the most popular, is the traditional way of pressing two hardware keys at the same time. The other two methods include Samsung’s own software to make it even easier.

1. Samsung Screenshot – With Physical Keys

The first method is to use the physical keys located on the side of the phone. This is the traditional method that is used the most and perhaps the fastest.

Pick up your phone, press the power button and volume down button at the same time and release in less than a second. You will see that the screen will flash white , it will take about a second for this to happen. This will indicate the screenshot was successful.

Sometimes, depending on the model, a small menu bar will appear at the bottom of the screen. The menu will have three buttons. The first button is to edit and crop the image. The second button is to enable hover capture, while the third button is to share the image on social media or messaging apps.

2. Samsung screenshot: ‘Palm swipe to capture’

If for some reason the first method doesn’t work due to broken buttons or some other problem, then you can perform the feature using the “palm swipe to capture” feature, i.e. using the palm profile. This is Samsung’s solution and does not require any hardware buttons. For us it is the most comfortable.

To enable ‘palm swipe to capture’, go to  Settings -> Advanced features -> Motions and gestures . There will be an option called  ‘Palm Swipe to Capture’ .  It is disabled by default. Activate the function. Now run your hand across the screen to take a screenshot from left to right for example. The phone will vibrate to indicate success.

We leave you a video so you can see how it is done.

3. Screenshot – wizard menu

If you want to try something different, you can try the Menu Wizard method. This is the last resort if all the physical keys on your Samsung phone are broken and the palm method doesn’t work.

To enable the Assist Menu, go to  Settings > Accessibility > Interaction and dexterity  and tap on  Assist Menu . A small circle will appear. Touch the circle. Several options will appear. Hit Screenshots. The screen will flash white, indicating that a screenshot has been taken.

These are some of the ways you can do them. It is very well done part of Samsung to include some functions via software for cases where the physical buttons are broken.
